Head of School
Ben Niles was a transformative Head of School for the Randolph School in Wappingers Falls, New York, and a founding teacher at the innovative New Design High School in New York City. As Board member and Head of School Search Committee Chair, Timothy Lee, commented, “Ben already has an incredible track record for developing innovative educational models that meet the needs of great students. He has the talent and experience to grow and sustain Tremont. We are all very excited to have him lead us forward.” Ben feels a strong connection between his priorities as an educator and the priorities of the Tremont School, in particular the “focus on finding the best ways to work with kids on promoting social and emotional growth, and on individualized learning.” He went on to say, “It is clear that Tremont fills a critical gap in the region, serving talented students that learn best in this distinctive educational model,” and he is “particularly excited that Tremont is at the forefront of innovating experiential, collaborative education in the ways that the best schools in the country are just starting to implement.”
A graduate of Middlebury and Excelsior Colleges and a Vermont native, Ben is excited to be back in New England with his wife, Jean Burger, a special education teacher, and his two children.
Dean of Students
Maile Munson is both a licensed Clinical Social Worker and a School Adjustment Counselor. She is also a certified Collaborative Proactive Solutions provider through Lives in the Balance. Her training includes a bachelor’s degree in psychology at Hartwick College followed by a master’s degree in social work at Simmons University. Her experience includes practice in a number of school settings for over 20-years. Three years ago, Maile discovered Tremont School. She is proud of Tremont as a place where the entire staff works with heart and soul to guide each student to reach his/her full potential. During her free time, Maile enjoys gardening, running, practicing yoga, and being with friends and family.
Director of Enrollment Management
Robert Outerbridge joins Tremont School with more than 10 years of experience providing high performance, cross functional higher education services and leadership. He has a proven ability to grow enrollment rates through high-impact high-visibility marketing and outreach initiatives that target students from diverse age groups and demographic backgrounds. Robert joins Tremont School from Landmark College in Putney, VT where he was the Director of Admissions, Responsible for all aspects of college-wide student enrollment initiatives. Prior to that, Robert was the Executive Director of the Center for Accelerated and Professional Studies at Becker College in Worcester, MA, and Director of Enrollment Management. Robert and his wife live in Deering, NH.
Business, Marketing & Communications Director
A graduate of the University of New Hampshire (B.S. Business Administration), Seth Tower has an extensive background in sales and marketing and has run several businesses, including his family’s printing company which employed over 150 people. Most recently Seth has owned a graphic design marketing communications firm specializing in brand development and package design. Seth enjoys skiing, sailing, photography and golf. He is certified member of the Professional Ski Instructors of America and has coached skiers of all abilities at Wildcat Mountain in Northern NH for 37 years. A licensed soccer coach, he also founded and runs a premier level soccer club based in metro west that has grown to over 300 players.
Senior Project Manager
Jill Walker is a parent co-founder of the Tremont School. She holds degrees in psychology from Colgate University and library information science Simmons College. Her background work as behavior specialist and mental health counselor as well as children’s and young adult reference librarian is a valuable addition to the mission of our progressive-inclusive school. She enjoys running, reading, and photography.
Sharon Sharifi joined Tremont School this year and brings with her a number of years of experience working with students in both classroom and administrative settings. Sharon holds a degree in Elementary Education as well as a Masters in Teaching English as a Second Language, and taught in both public and independent schools. Most recently she worked as an Administrative Assistant at the Concord Montessori Schools in Concord, MA. She is a world citizen and enjoys travel, yoga and tries her best at gardening.
